Hayle is translated from the Cornish 'Heyl' meaning estuary is only 4 miles
from St. Ives. Hayle has 3 miles of
excellent sand. SOS Hayle is campaigning for the
 preservation of Hayle beach.  North east of Hayle is Godrevy island with the famous lighthouse
which inspired

Hayle/Heyl is very popular with all holiday makers, offering a variety of 
attractions  for the whole family  and only a short drive to the beach.
Well known for its extensive stretch of soft golden sands and backed by
impressive sand dunes
. Also with superb panoramic views of St Ives,

Carbis Bay and Godrevy Lighthouse which provided the novelist
Virginia Woolf with the inspiration for her novel ; 'To the Lighthouse'
Behind the main expanse of sand, you will find  The Towans, (sand dunes)
which dominates the coastline and also provides a great place for visitors
to explore the rich habitat for wildlife that they create.

The Hayle Estuary offers a feeding  ground and stop off point for many types
of migratory birds. The long beach at Hayle has something for everyone.
It is excellent for swimming, surfing and of course sun bathing.
During the evening it transforms into a truly romantic location for that
evening stroll.
